Why did God Become Human? Two Schools of Thought
Did the Son of God become the Son of Man to save us from sin?
Would the Word have been made flesh if Adam and Eve had not sinned?
Was the Incarnation a response to sin?
Or was the Incarnation planned by God from all eternity?
What does the Church teach? And why does it matter?
Oct. 20
Building a Case for Communion as the Cause of the Incarnation
Is the primary reason for the Incarnation the most important unsettled question in the 2000-year history of Christian theology? If so, why?
Revelation tells us God created all things to share his divine life with us. Scripture tells us all creation is ordered to Christ.
How can a broader understanding of salvation help us discover the primary reason for the Incarnation?
And what does this mean for my daily life?
Oct. 27
Human Destiny: Deification
The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches that God became human so that humans can become God (CCC 460). What?!
What is deification? And what does our ultimate destiny teach us about God?
Why is the way we live on earth so closely tied to where we will spend eternity?
Why is it so important to know the primary reason for the Incarnation?
What are its implications for my life?
For the life of the Church?
