Why do you want to be a Mercy Missionary? I want to become a Mercy Missionary because, since my reconversion two years ago, I have encountered so many moments where I’ve experienced the fullness of joy and peace in serving our good Lord Jesus. To have the opportunity to do that for an entire year is truly a blessing. I’ve noticed that the more I’ve gone out to serve our friends on the street, the more the Lord has increased my ability and capacity to love complete strangers which, unexpectedly, has also helped me grow in love for myself. Although it took time and prayer to discern whether I was called to serve as a Mercy Missionary, it has become clear that this is the Lord’s will for me, and that brings me deep peace. I can’t wait to serve alongside all of my beautiful missionary friends. God is GREAT!
What hopes do you have for this year of mission? I hope to grow in my relationship with Jesus. I know this might sound rather basic, but I truly hope this year is one in which the Lord removes all of my attachments to the world and replaces them with Himself. I hope to grow to a new depth of love for Jesus. I hope the Lord really goes to work on me, shaping and forming me into the man He has called me to be.
